Becomee ("the App," "we," "us") is a personal growth app that helps you journal, reflect, and experiment with who you're becoming. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the protections we have in place. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
We take privacy seriously — especially for an app built around your most personal thoughts. We collect only what's needed to make the app work, and we never sell your data.
When you create an account, we collect:
The core of Becomee is your writing. We store:
This content lives in your account and is only accessible to you. We use it to personalise the AI responses you receive within the app.
Becomee uses AI to power its coaching and reflection features. To generate a response, your writing is sent securely to one or more of these third-party AI providers:
These providers receive only the content needed to generate your response — your name, email address, and account identity are never included in those requests. Your content is not used to train their models under standard API terms, and is not shared with other users or used for advertising.
Because AI features require reading your content, Becomee cannot offer end-to-end encryption (where not even we can read your data) while still providing AI coaching. If you are not comfortable with your writing being processed by AI, please do not use the AI-powered features.
AI responses are for reflection and self-exploration only. They are not medical, therapeutic, or professional advice.
We use PostHog to collect anonymised usage analytics — which features are used, how often, and whether errors occur. This data is used only to improve the app. It never includes the content of your journal entries, reflections, or personal brief. Analytics events contain only action names (e.g. "opened journal") and are not linked to your email address.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
We share data only with the following categories of service providers, and only to operate the app:
We may also disclose information when required by law or valid legal process.
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest using AES-256.
We use multiple layers of protection for your data:
All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS. Your data is never sent over unencrypted connections.
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), which uses AES-256 disk encryption. Row-level security policies ensure that no user can query another user's data through the API — your journal entries and personal brief are accessible only to your authenticated account.
Local app data is stored in an encrypted Core Data store, protected by iOS file protection. The store is locked when your device is locked. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, not in plain storage.
Because AI features require reading your content on our servers, your writing is not end-to-end encrypted — Becomee and our AI service providers can read it. If your device is compromised (e.g. jailbroken), local file protection may not apply. We strongly recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a strong device passcode.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data — including journal entries, Space conversations, your personal brief, and uploaded images — is permanently deleted from our systems. This deletion is immediate and irreversible.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly within the app:
Deletion is permanent and takes effect immediately. Alternatively, you can contact us at support@becomee.ai and we will process your request within 5 business days.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your personal data. Contact us at the address below to make any such request.
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
